So how the heck did I find myself here?
After snagging my degree in Psychology, I got a bit over the grey skies of England and moved down under to work as a Psychologist in Melbourne. And well, let’s just say it all didn’t go to plan so I ended up knee deep in cow shit (like for reals) on a dairy farm in Margaret River. Oh boy, is that a story we need to share over an espresso martini.
But I did the dirty work and finally managed to snag my citizenship and now you suckers are stuck with me for good!
After working 7 years for the government overseeing change management and business improvement (this is why i’m so freaking good at refining businesses these days just FYI) I decided it was time for something new. So I did a degree in Teaching AND started a wedding business on the side all in the same year (overachiever? I think so!)
After growing my business whilst working and studying full time, I launched my first coaching business ‘The Love Biz Academy’ in early 2021. After scaling that to six figures in the first year, I was hounded by women like you in a bunch of other industries to help and support them in their business too. So why am I so obsessed with freedom?
The idea of committing to a 9-5 where you’re just another cog in the wheel was never something I wanted. But I did the ‘good girl’ things society told me to do, like work hard at school, get straight A’s, go to uni and get a normal job.
But I always felt kinda squashed in those jobs (did I tell you that I got fired from my first job at Pandora for having too many ideas? Yeah i’m that girl. Lol)
If we live in a world where employees get zero opportunity for creativity - then I sure as shit never wanna be employed by anyone but ME ever again (because dang, i’m the best freaking boss there this!)
Here's what’s happened in the last 5 years:
2018
⏰ Working 40+ hours in my corporate job
🏃♂️ Just started a side-hustle
📚 Studying teaching part time
🙅♀️ No kids
🤷♀️ No business
💰 Making $120k corporate salary but overwhelmed AF
2023
⏰ Working 20 hours a week
💻 Director of my own company
🧡 2 kids under 3
💃 3 team members
🤑 Made $256k last financial year
🥂 Kicking off life as a digital nomad in 2024
Having two kids in two years while trying to grow your business is no easy feat. But I made it my mission to excel in motherhood AND business without burning out.
So I can do it, you sure as hell can do it too babes!
